Denver ranks among the nation's most livable cities, but is also the seventh most congested city in the country. In addition, in the next 20 years, more than one million people will move to the Denver metro area, increasing its current population to 3.6 million. The Regional Transportation District in Denver has a multi-phased, extensive plan for dealing with this projected growth. In 2007 alone, the RTD executed over 90 million passenger boardings via multiple modes of service, with a commitment to providing enhanced mobility to all parts of the city.

Veolia Transportation operates a portion of Denver’s bus network and greatly values its partnership with the Regional Transport District. Veolia Transportation has operated this contract since 2005, and we transport 7.5 million passengers a year with 125 fixed route buses and 350 employees, including a very strong management team. Through a progressive program for recruiting and training, and positive culture-building practices, we are well positioned to retain employees in what has been a tight job market.

Our team is building a culture characterized by high standards for customer care, strong communication and genuine teamwork. In 2008, all drivers were trained in Going For Green?, our proprietary customer service training program. 90% of our bus passengers rated our drivers and helpful and friendly in a major consumer survey conducted following the training. The survey was executed by a highly regarded independent market research firm.
