SuperShuttle Acquisition leads to Expansion of Veolia
Transportion On Demand

Veolia Transportation North America, the largest operator of private passenger ground transportation in the U.S. today [October 23] confirmed the acquisition of SuperShuttle, the world leader in airport shared ride transportation.
SuperShuttle, a favorite household name with operations in 23 airports in the U.S. and 1,200 vehicles, is the only national brand name in airport shared ride ground transportation.

SuperShuttle, known for its high quality service, value pricing and innovation, is a good fit with Veolia’s growing reputation for international innovation and customer service. SuperShuttle’s proprietary dispatch, routing and scheduling technology, as well as its Internet reservation system and call center expertise, provides an excellent platform for Veolia’s new Transport on Demand business.

Veolia’s Transport on Demand CEO Mark Joseph said “This is a momentous time in Veolia’s history, as we consolidate our Transportation on Demand business to include airport shuttles and taxis, as well as other on demand transportation services. This acquisition not only represents a turning-point in our delivery of the full-range of transportation solutions, it also places Veolia Transportation as the only fully diversified transportation company in the world able to provide seamless mobility management, from taxi to bus, from paratransit to shuttles.”

Brian Wier, CEO of SuperShuttle said, “We are fortunate to combine forces with Veolia Transportation, to further develop our brand both domestically and internationally. Veolia’s international experience gives us the best opportunity to extend this well-known brand to new verticals.”

From international headquarters in Paris, France, Olivier Brousse, Veolia Transport Executive Vice President said “SuperShuttle’s shared ride concept is probably the missing link between mass transit systems and individual cars. We are very excited to have the opportunity to continue to develop it in the States and to bring it to the many cities we serve around the world, particularly at a time when it is critical to reduce gas consumption and global warming.”

Veolia Transportation also operates airport transportation under the ShuttlePort brand, as well as bus, paratransit and rail operations throughout the United States and Canada. Among the cities in which Veolia provides commuter train services are Boston and Los Angeles. Bus and paratransit systems make up the majority of transportation services around the country including contracts in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington DC and Quebec, Canada. Veolia Transportation also operates bus-rapid-transit in Metropolitan Toronto in Canada and in Las Vegas.

Around the world, Veolia transports more than 2.5 billion passengers per year. It operates 16,700 buses, 3,500 trains and has 72,000 employees worldwide in 25 countries, with total annual revenue of approximately $5 billion. Veolia Transportation is a subsidiary of Veolia Environment, a leading international provider of environmental services operating on every continent.
